Divinity Chronicles: Journey to the West
Divinity Chronicles: Journey to the West is a rogue-like deck building game, in which you will play as the main hero with unique power that modeled as sets of cards, consumables, and relics, taking on the challenging but rewarding journey across the Realm of Divinity.
During your journey, you will encounter various monsters, spirits, celestials, demons, and legendary creatures, each of them has their own stories that are deeply intertwined with the fate of the world. To defeat your opponents, you will need to strategically use your deck of cards, relics, and consumables in a turn based combat.
This demo consists of the first chapter of the story mode gameplay. Numerous new contents, heroes, features, and game modes will be added as we develop the game. Stay tuned to our latest builds for the best game experience!
Wukong, the Monkey King
Wukong was the leader of a group of rebels, challenging the tradition of Heaven - which resulted in the famous “Uproar in Heaven”. After a terrible defeat by the Buddhas, Wukong was sealed under the Mountain of Five Elements for 500 years. One year after the omen of darkness, the Goddess of Mercy frees Wukong and sends him on the mission of eliminating the danger of the Devil King.
More playable heroes are under development, including The Holy Monk, The Swine King, The Faithful Devil, and The White Dragon Prince.
Deck Building - Your character comes with a unique card pool, which is the core of his or her power. In addition, you can choose from a pool of colorless cards, and special cards from NPCs & Events to strengthen your character; similar to other deck-building games such as Slay the Spire, Hearthstone, etc.
Turn Based Combat - Defeat your opponents by strategically playing cards (which cost energy), using consumables, leveraging relics.
Relics - In this world of magic and miracles, you can find numerous relics as your journey goes on. Choose the relics that pair well with your core deck strategy - and they will be powerful enough to turn the tide of the combat.
Consumables - Unlike cards, you are free to use consumables at any time without energy constraint. Thanks to their flexibility and availability, consumables can be a great auxiliary to your core deck strategy.
Unique Encounters - During each play through, you will face different opponents, events, quests, and even endings, all based on your strategies and choices. We aim to maximize the re-playability.
Events - Each hero in the game has a unique set of events, based on the legendary stories in the Journey to the West.
